Hall of Fame
The 24th person associated with the men’s basketball team to earn induction into the athletics hall of fame, Tommy Wesner packed a full career of statistics into his three years at the College. A junior college transfer, Wesner finished his career seventh in school history with 1,428 points and ranked in the top 10 in seven other categories. He still holds the school record with 268 3-point field goals made. A Mechanicsburg, Pa., native, Wesner averaged 16.9 points per game in his first year with the program and he got better from there. He led the Freedom Conference in scoring in each of his last two years, averaging 17.4 points as a junior and 20.0 points as a senior. After helping the team to the Freedom Conference title and NCAA Tournament in 2002, Wesner was named the conference’s player of the year. As a senior, he topped that, earning Second Team National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District and D3Hoops.com All-Middle Atlantic Region honors along with his second first-team all-conference honors. A two-time Tip-Off Tournament MVP, he had one of his greatest performances in the tournament, hitting a school-record 11 3-pointers against Lincoln (Pa.) in the 2002 championship game. Wesner also won a school-record nine Freedom Conference Player of the Week awards.
