Chi Alpha Sigma

National College Athlete Honor Society

Established as the Pensylvania Alpha Mu chapter at Lycoming College in July 2019, Chi Alpha Sigma is the National College Athlete Honor Society.

Chi Alpha Sigma is the first national scholar-athlete society to honor collegiate student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom and in competition. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma provides outstanding student-athletes an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.

The athletic department, in coordination with Chi Alpha Sigma's membership guidelines, developed the following criteria for induction into Lycoming College's Alpha Lambda Chapter:

• Has achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 after his/her fourth semester of college or at any point after that;
• Has earned one letter in a varsity intercollegiate sport;
• Is of good moral character as determined by their head coach(es), the Provost and the Dean of Students.

Lycoming's athletic department's induction ceremony is held during Division III Week, and inductees will receive a cord to wear with their cap and gown at Commencement.
