One of the most consistent performers in the men's soccer program's history, Matt Frey helped the Warriors transition from the Freedom to the Commonwealth Conference with ease. During his career, the four-time all-conference midfielder helped the Warriors to a 44-26-5 record and three conference playoff appearances. The Greensboro, Md., native finished his career, where he earned three second-team all-conference honors (2005, '06, '08) and one first-team all-conference honor (2007), second in school history with 29 career assists and 72 games started. He is also 11th in school history with 57 points and he scored seven points in a conference clash with Delaware Valley in 2006. Perhaps his greatest mark was left in 2006 when he scored the game-winning goal in Lycoming's first win in program history against Elizabethtown, snapping a string of 42 winless outcomes. He also competed with USA Athletes International at the Bajan Goodwill Games in Barbados in 2008, scoring the game-winning goal against Barbados in the finals of the tournament. After graduating, Frey moved on to play professionally in the National Premier Soccer League with the Atlantic City Diablos and he coached with the Atlantic Soccer Factory for three years. Frey now works at PennWood Financial Group as a Financial Services Representative in Camp Hill, Pa., where he is going to soon be working towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner, and he is in his fifth year as an assistant men's soccer coach at Lebanon Valley College. He is still active in a men's recreation league and also enjoys golf. He recently married Attie (Horner) '10, who is a middle school language arts teacher.
