Michael Bonnes is the third person associated with the men’s lacrosse program to earn induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame. A three-year letterwinner after transferring into Lycoming, the attackman rewrote the College’s record books in a span of just 48 games, leaving the school as the all-time leader in points per game (5.18), goals (168) and goals per game (3.73). The Ridley Park, Pa., native also set the school record for goals in a season with 57 in 2000, helping him finish tied for eighth in Division III in goals per game. As a senior, the team captain had an astounding 87 points, helping him finish fourth in the nation in points and fifth in goals (55). During his career, Bonnes led the Warriors to a 34-14 record and appearances in the MAC Championship game in 1999 and 2001. He is ranked third in school history with 233 career points and seventh with 65 assists, not to mention ranking in the top 10 in school history in both goals and points three times. A two-time First Team All-MAC selection and one-time second-team pick, one of the highlights of his career came as a senior, when he started with his brothers, Ryan and Shaun, in the attack for the Warriors in a 23-3 win over King’s (Pa.), as the trio combined for 12 goals and seven assists. Mike had three assists in the first quarter of the game, dishing all of them out to his brothers. Bonnes is a pharmaceutical sales representative for Merck and he is active in Big Brothers of America.
