2012 Beyond Sports College Network All-American - Second Team
After becoming the second straight Lycoming College football player to earn the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award, junior linebacker Kabongo Bukasa (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) picked up his first All-American honors, being placed on the second team from the Beyond Sports College Network in 2012.
Bukasa is the fourth Warrior to earn BSCN All-American honors, joining a trio that earned mention from the website in 2011.
Bukasa, a d3Football.com Third Team All-East Region pick and a First Team All-MAC selection, led the Warriors and finished seventh in the league with 7.8 tackles and 0.33 interceptions per game, the only player in the top 10 in both categories. Leading the team with 70 tackles, Bukasa had five or more tackles in each of his first eight games.
Versatile and fast, Bukasa had the ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage and 10-yards downfield. He also performed in big games, posting two interceptions and a fumble recovery against nationally-ranked Widener, helping him earn the MAC Defensive Player of the Week award.
