REEDSVILLE, Pa. – Senior
Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) won her second meet of the season to lead the Lycoming College women's cross country, which placed five in the top 10 to defeat four teams at the Eagle Invite on Friday, Sept. 13, at Indian Valley Middle School.
In addition to the five women in the top 10, two men, junior
Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) and sophomore
Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del./Polytech) finished in the top 10 of the men's race, as the men finished second in a field of five teams on the 6K course.
Yocum, who also finished first at a dual meet with Penn College on Sept. 3, posted a time of 20:31.1 to take the women's 5K race, finishing nearly 1:45 ahead of the field of 24 runners. Sophomore
Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took fourth in 22:59.9, just ahead of sophomore
Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) (fifth, 23:16.8) and senior
Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) (sixth, 23:59.4). Sophomore
Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) rounded out the Warriors' scoring five, taking 10
th in 24.45.50.
Draper finished second in the 23-runner field, posting a time of 20:10.4, while Rosan posted a 23:05.90 to take 10
th. Sophomore
David Boring (Montoursville, Pa./Home-schooled) was 11
th in 23:51.3, sophomore
Connor Cornelius (Linden, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) took 12
th in 24:07.0 and first-year
Samuel Jenkins (Williamsport, Pa./Home-schooled) rounded out the top five by taking 16
th in 24:29.0.
