NEWVILLE, Pa.—The Lycoming College cross country programs concluded their season in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
The Warriors men's team finished in 31st place, while the women raced to a 28th place finish.Â
The men were led by senior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville), who finished 127th in the 8K race with a time of 28:46.51 in his final collegiate race. First year Jacob Carr (Towanda, Pa. / Towanda Area) was the next-quickest for Lycoming, finishing in 201st place with a 33:02.65 mark.Â
Other finishers for Lycoming were junior Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del./Polytech) (39:17.28), sophomore Aidan Rozetar (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg Area) (43:07.22), junior Thomas Andersen (Wenonah, N.J./Deptford Township) (46:13.61) and junior Depesh Rai (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) (46:44.01).
On the women's side, junior Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa. / Troy) was Lycoming's top runner, finishing the 6K race in 27:47.75, good for 161st place, with junior Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) not far behind, finishing in 28:30.80 for 174th place.
Other finishers for Lycoming were junior Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) (30:15.67), junior Anna Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) (30:21.83), first-year Emma Ashfield (Tamaqua, Pa./Marian Catholic) (31:37.53), first-year Caitlyn Albertson (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) (36:59.54) and sophomore Sydney Cox (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) (39:39.91).
The meet was swept by Johns Hopkins University, who won both the men's and women's titles, as well as boasting men's champion Kenny Wanlass (25:16.80). Carnegie Mellon's Chloe Bonson (21:24.42) was the women's champion.
