Warrior women picked ninth, men tenth in Landmark pre-championship polls

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Lycoming College women's cross country team was picked to finish in a tie for ninth in the Landmark Conference Pre-Championship poll, while the men's squad was picked tenth, as announced by the conference office.

The 2025 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, N.J., with Drew University serving as the host institution. The women's 6K race will get underway at 11 a.m. while the men's 8K race will begin at 12 p.m., with awards to follow at 1:15 p.m.

The Warriors will look to improve from 2024's results, when the women's team finished eighth and the men finished ninth in the Landmark Conference Championships, while the women went on to finish 22nd in the Mid-Atlantic Regional, the highest finish in program history.

On the women's side, the Warriors are led by junior Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), who was the highest-placing Warrior in four of Lycoming's five meets this fall, including a second-place finish against Penn College on Oct. 7 and a fourth-place finish in the Eagle Invite on Sept. 12. Junior Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) was the highest-placing Warrior in the Misericordia Invitational on Aug. 29 and also posted top-six finishes against Penn College and in the Eagle Invite. For the men's team, senior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) has been the Warriors top finisher in four of the five meets, highlighted by winning the Eagle Invite with a time of 17:27.7 in the 5K race. Draper also finished sixth against Penn College and was the highest Warrior finisher in the 2024 championships, finishing 51st. Junior Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del./Polytech) also was strong this year, with a pair of top-ten finishes, highlighted by a team-best fifth-place finish against Penn College.

The women's poll saw Moravian take the top spot with 74 points and six first-place votes.
