MONTGOMERY, Pa. – Five Lycoming College cross country runners placed in the top five in a dual meet with Penn College on Tuesday, Sept. 3, as the women posted a 20-36 win thanks to a 1-2-4-5 finish while the men fell to the defending United East Champs, 17-46, at the Penn College Earth Science Center.

The Warrior women had six runners finish in the top 10 on a 4K course, with senior
Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) earned the top honors with a 18:26 and sophomore
Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) followed behind in second in 19:30. Sophomore
Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) took fourth in 19:35 and senior
Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added a 20:03 to take fifth. Rounding out the scoring five, sophomore
Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) took eighth in 21:25 and sophomore
Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) was 10
th in 24:08. Senior
Isabella Fave (Middleburg, Pa./Midd-West) was 12
th in 25:38, sophomore
Meghan Farr (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) 13
th in 26:38 and first-year
Sydney Cox (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) 14
th in 26:39.

Matthew Woolcock placed first in a time of 21:21 for the Warriors, Mitchell Campbell was second in 21:36 and Ethan Knapp was third in 22:07.

The Warriors are back on the course on Saturday, Sept. 7, when they head to the Dutchmen XC Invite at Union Canal Tunnel Park. The women's race is set for 10:15 a.m. and the men's race is slated for 11 a.m.
