NEWVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore
Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) again led the Lycoming College cross country teams with a 38
th place finish in the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational in the women's 4,000-meter race Saturday morning, Sept. 30.
The women finished 14
th out of 23 schools while the men took 17
th in a 20-team field.
Long and both squads ran the 4K short race, as she ran a 15:48.6 to take the top time on the team. Senior
Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) took 59
th with her run of 16:22.8. Sophomore
Amanda Goulden (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) ran an 18:24.7, finishing 126
th, and sophomore
Angelina Fernandez (Bartonsville, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) finished 137
th with a time of 18:52.4. Senior
Rachel Ham (San Antonio, Texas/Home-schooled) rounded out the top-5 Warrior finishes, as she took 154
th with a time of 19:47.9.
On the men's side, freshman
Daniel Moses (Cape May, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) took 66
th with his run of 14:01.1 to take the top spot on the team. Sophomore
Gustavo Vergara (Santa Ana, Calif./Valley) ran a 14:47.8, good for 99
th place and freshman
Maverick Stenger (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) took 105
th with his run of 15:03.8. Senior
Joseph Ingrum (Lodi, Calif./Lodi) finished 108
th with his time of 15:13.1 and rounding out the top-5 was senior
Trenton Jones (Houston, Texas/KIPP Sunnyside) who took 144
th with his 20:30.5 run.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they head to Center Valley, Pa., to run in the DeSales University Invitational. The men begin at 10:30 a.m. while the women start at 11:15 a.m.
