GRANTHAM, Pa. – Freshmen
Quincy Amabile (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) and
Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) once again posted top-20 finishes to lead the Lycoming College cross country teams at the Messiah Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24.

Amabile ran the seventh-fastest 8K course in program history, finishing in 28:07.17 on the hilly course to take 13
th place out of 124 runners, to lead the Warrior men, which finished 11
th out of 11 teams.

Long, meanwhile, paced the women's team with an 18
th-place finish, posting a time of 25:10.47 on the 6K course in a field of 162 runners, as she came up just five seconds shy of her career best.

The women's team came in eighth in a field of 13 teams, finishing ahead of MAC foes King's, Alvernia and Wilkes. Junior
Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) took second on the team and finished 44
th in 26:26.39, dropping nearly six minutes off her previous best at Messiah.

Running her first race of the year, senior
Victoria Wilson (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland) finished 71
st in 27:36.99 and senior
Sarah Donovan (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) took 73
rd in 27:44.15, both times which were their best at Messiah. Freshman
Amanda Goulden (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) finished 106
th with a career-best 29:22.39 to round out the scoring five.

Abigail O'Connor (Mt. Holly Springs, Pa./Home-schooled) finished in 30:50.15 and senior
Jordyn Reilly (Cressona, Pa./Blue Mountain) crossed the line in 30:54.80.

Behind Amabile on the men's side, senior
Jacob Miller (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central) posted his best time at Messiah, finishing in 31:24.30 in his first race of the year, taking 73
rd. Freshman
Gustavo Vergara (Santa Ana, Calif./Valley) took 91
st in 32:59.74 and junior
Joseph Ingrum (Lodi, Calif./Lodi) took 93
rd in 33:10.98, his best time at the Messiah race.

Rounding out the top five, senior
Donald Keys (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) finished in 34:48.46, while seniors
John Woodburn (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) (35:25.96) and
Dan Yoder (Montoursville, Pa./Home-schooled) (36:38.12) also factored in the scoring.

The Warriors get back on the course on Saturday, Oct. 8, when they head to the DeSales University Invitational. The men's race will begin at 10:30 a.m. before the women get set to go at 12 p.m.
