WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's cross country team was picked to finish eighth in the Landmark Conference Pre-Championship poll and the men's team was picked 10
th, the conference office has announced.

The 2024 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 2 at the Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, Pa., with the women's 6K race at 11 a.m., the men's 8K race at 12 p.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Lycoming wrapped up 2023 on a historic high, achieving its best finish in both the conference championship (sixth) and the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (23rd) in the program's 40-year history.

Leading the Warriors is senior
Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs), the program's only three-time all-conference runner in a 43-season history. Her school-record 6,000-meter time of 22:51.4 earned her 44th place at the 2023 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, and she became the first Warrior to receive USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors. Yocum has had an outstanding senior year, winning two events and finishing in the top 15 at all six events the team has participated in.

Yocum is backed by a strong returning group, including sophomore
Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), seniors
Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and
Isabella Fave (Middleburg, Pa./Midd-West), and sophomore
Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy), all of whom contributed to Lycoming's historic NCAA Mid-Atlantic performance. Sophomore newcomer
Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) has also been a key factor in the team's scoring throughout the year.

Moravian topped the women's poll with 73 points and four first-place votes, edging Scranton, which earned 70 points and also claimed four first-place votes. Catholic is third with 69 points and two first-place votes. Elizabethtown and Susquehanna round out the top five with 57 and 50 points, respectively.

Drew sits in sixth with 46 points, while Goucher (31), Lycoming (24), Wilkes (16), and Juniata (14) complete the poll.
On the men's side, Moravian topped the poll with 80 points and eight first-place votes. Elizabethtown follows behind with 68 points and two first-place votes and Scranton (65), Susquehanna (56) and Catholic (47) round out the top half of the poll.

Drew was sixth with 41 points, while Wilkes (32), Juniata (26), Goucher (21), and Lycoming (14) complete the poll.

Sophomore
Kenny Draper (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) has led the men all season, posting two top-five finishes and notching a season-best time of 28:19.1 at the Dutchmen XC Invite at Union Canal on Sept. 7.
