Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton) finished 29th in the women's 5K and junior
Daniel Moses (Cape May, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) placed 52nd in the men's first 8K race to highlight the Lycoming College cross country teams at the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Union Canal Tunnel Park.
Long ran a 20:15.40 to place 29th in the field of 93 runners to lead the women to an eighth-place finish out of 19 teams at the meet. Freshmen
Tamara Hess (Canton, Pa./Canton) placed 65th with a time of 25:14.70, with senior
Amanda Goulden (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) finishing a slot behind her with a run of 25:47.20. Senior
Kayla Nowak (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) finished in 28:12.80, placing 77th. Freshmen
Kaitlyn Welch (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) finished in 30:32.70 (84th) and
Ha-Anh Nguyen (Hanoi, Vietnam/Olympic Schools) ran a 31:33.80 (87th) to round out the top seven.
Moses led the men to a 12th-place finish in a field of 20 schools, as he took 52nd out of a field of 103 runners. Sophomore
Logan Franquet (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) finished second of the team and 70th overall with a time of 33.16. In his first 8k since early last season, sophomore
Brandon Gates (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) notched a career-best time of 34:09 to place 75th and junior
Maverick Stenger (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) came in behind him at 77th with a time of 34:32.60.
Junior
Hunter Jackson (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone Area) tackled his career-best time by nearly a minute, posting a 35:09.30 to earn 78th. Sophomore
Diego Pallares (Cicero, Ill./Bulls College Prep) finished in 35:21.50 to place 80th and junior
Guillermo Quintero (Austin, Texas/KIPP Austin) ran a 35:57.30 to place 83rd to round out the top seven.
The Warriors' next race is set for Saturday, Sept. 14, at Misericordia's Cougar Classic, with the men beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the women following at 11:15 a.m.
