GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior
Rachel Fritz (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) ran the fifth-fastest time in program history, posting a 25:18 on the 6K course and freshman
Daniel Moses (Cape May, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) ran a career-best 29:37.3 to lead the Lycoming College cross country teams at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday morning, Oct. 14.
Fritz bested her previous career best by nearly 38 seconds as she ran a 25:56.1 in her last outing at the DeSales Invite on Oct. 7. The time drop helped move her up two spots in the school's record book, pushing past Lindsay Decker (25:27, 2013) and
Sarah Donovan (25:34.80, 2014) into the top five in program history. Fritz placed 78
th out of 282 runners in the women's 6k race as the Warriors finished 24
th out of 31 schools. Right behind Fritz was sophomore
Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton), who placed 95th with a run of 25:48.9.
Sophomore
Angelina Fernandez (Bartonsville, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) placed third on the Warriors, as she also ran a career-best 30:13.5, besting her previous mark by more than two minutes. Senior
Rachel Ham (San Antonio, Texas/Home-schooled) ran a 31:39.2, and sophomore
Keely Laidacker (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) rounded out the top-five Warrior runners with her run of 34:41.3.
On the men's side in the 8k race, Moses placed 144th out of 254 runners with his career-best run while freshman
Maverick Stenger (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) placed 217th with his run of 32:41.1. Placing third for the Warriors was senior
Joseph Ingrum (Lodi, Calif./Lodi), finishing in 32:42.2. Rounding out the fourth and fifth spots for the Warriors were senior
Sean Hastings (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) (33:32.2) and senior
Trenton Jones (Houston, Texas/KIPP Sunnyside) (45:23).
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the MAC Championships in Doylestown, Pa. The women's race begins at 11 a.m. while the men start at 12 p.m.
