Warriors slotted eighth in Landmark preseason coaches’ poll

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Lycoming College field hockey team was selected to finish eighth in the Landmark Conference Preseason Coaches' poll, the conference announced on Monday, Aug. 25.

Defending champion Susquehanna University topped the poll with 80 points, Scranton placed second with 70 points, and Catholic landed third with 68 points. Moravian (52) and Drew (45) rounded out the top half of the poll, while Elizabethtown (34), Lycoming (30), Goucher (21) and Wilkes (13), make up the second half.

The Warriors ended the 2024 season with an 8-9 overall and 3-6 Landmark Conference record. In their third year of competition since the field hockey program was reinstated after a 30-year hiatus, the 2024 squad set program-record with the eight wins and the three conference wins kept the team in the hunt for a postseason berth until the final game of the season.

Senior Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) returns after earning First Team All-Landmark Conference honors as a goalkeeper. She led the Landmark Conference in both saves per game (11.0), finishing 13th in Division III with 187 saves, and in save percentage (.842), finishing 10th in the nation in that statistic.

The Warriors open the season on Friday, Aug. 29, when they head to Washington & Jefferson for a 4 p.m. game.
