WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Junior goalkeeper Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) has earned the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week award for a second time this year after posting 41 saves for the Lycoming College field hockey team last week in a pair of key conference games, the conference announced on Monday, Oct. 21.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Warriors beat Juniata, 2-1, in double overtime as Bobé notched 20 saves to keep the Eagles' offensive efforts at bay. Bobé saved six shots in the fourth quarter and posted nine additional stops during overtime play.
Bobé led the Warriors (7-7 overall, 2-4 Landmark Conference) on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, as the team fell to first-place Catholic, making 21 saves, which was one away from her career high.
The junior also earned the conference's defensive athlete of the week award on Sept. 16 after posting a shutout of Division II Roberts Wesleyan, 1-0. She has earned three defensive player of the week awards in her career.
Bobe leads the Landmark Conference and is eighth in Division III with a stellar .838 save percentage, and her 9.57 saves per game also leads the league and sits in the top 20 in Division III.
The Warriors travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Tuesday, Oct. 22, to compete in Landmark Conference play against Wilkes University at 7 p.m.
