Lee named to CSC Academic All-District team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College men's cross country runner Garrett Lee '23 (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Cross Country team, the organization announced on Wednesday, May 31.
 
The CSC nominates the nation's top student-athletes, recognized for their performance in competition and in the classroom. Academic All-District selections will advance to the Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third team selections will be announced on June 29. Nominees must maintain a 3.50 GPA and must have played in half of their contests and be a major contributor to the program.
 
Joining the team as a senior, Lee quickly become a leader on the team, as he finished second on the team in every race he ran. At the MAC Championships, Lee ran a 31.53.4 that placed him 126th. He ran a season-best 31:46.3 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, placing 188th.
 
The biology major was also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Athletic Honor Society, the MAC Academic Honor Roll and the MAC All-Sportsmanship team.
 
The men's cross country team finished 16th at the MAC Championships and in 32nd at the NCAA Mideast Regional under fourth-year head coach Katie Sick.
