YORK, Pa. – Senior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) picked up First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly to head a group of five Lycoming College swimmers and two relay teams to earn all-conference honors during the third night of the MAC Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Thomas posted a career-best time of 52.22, the second-best in school history, to finish third in the 100-yard butterfly, just 0.54 behind the conference champion, Timothy Graham of Arcadia. Still, Thomas earned all-conference honors in the event for the first time in his career and the fifth time overall.
The Warrior women picked up a pair of Second Team All-MAC selections in the 100-yard breaststroke, with senior
Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) posting a career-best time of 1:09.26 to take fifth and freshman
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) took sixth in 1:09.76. Flynn earned her fourth career Second Team All-MAC honors in the event with the third-best time in school history, while Kramer's time is fourth-best.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman
Billie Strickler (Cogan Station, Pa./St. John Neumann), junior
Morgan Black (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone), Flynn and Kramer also earned Second Team All-MAC honors, finishing in 1:43.31, the best for the program since the 2010 relay squad set the school record.
Freshman
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) earned his first career individual all-conference accolades, finishing fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, as he took fifth with a time of 53.14, becoming the first Warrior since 2008 to earn all-conference accolades in the event. Jordan's time was second-fastest in program history, less than a half-second behind the school record of 52.76 set by Steve Hawley in 2005.
Senior
Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) earned all-conference honors in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing sixth with a time of 59.86, as he became the first Warriors in program history to earn all-conference accolades in the event in all four years of a career.
The men's 200-yard medley team finished in eighth place to pick up honorable mention all-conference honors, as the team of Endler, freshman
Jon Koller (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), Jordan and senior
Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) posted a time of 1:30.61.
Also earning points for the women's squad on Saturday night were junior
Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area), who finished 14
th in the 400-yard individual medley (5:09.61) and senior
Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), who finished 10
th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.06).
On the men's side, sophomore
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) added a ninth-place finish, winning the consolation final, with a time of 54.69, fifth-best in school history, in the 200-yard backstroke and Apostolu earned points with a 13
th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.70).
The Warriors wrap up the 2016 MAC Championships with the fourth day of the championship meet on Sunday, Feb. 14. Preliminaries are set to begin at 10 a.m. with the finals set for 6 p.m.
