SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) broke his own school record in the 200-yard backstroke and both seniors
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and
Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) won individual events to lead the Lycoming College swimming teams on the second day of the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Canavan finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, but dropped his school-record by nearly quarter-second, finishing in 1:58.72, to break the record that he set nearly a year ago tonight at the Swarthmore Invitational, when he posted a time of 1:59.05. Canavan also took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 56.84.

Thomas, meanwhile, swept the butterfly races, posting a career-best time of 53.20 to win the 100-yard event with the third-fastest time in program history before following with a time of 2:02.35Â to take the 200.

Flynn also added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.58, just over a second off her career-best time. She took second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.52. Three others finished in the 100-yard breaststroke, with freshman
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) taking fourth in 1:12.06, junior
Morgan Black (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) taking eighth in 1:14.56 and sophomore
Nina McGahey (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) finishing 10
th in 1:16.56.

Senior
Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) added a pair of second-place finishes in the backstroke, posting a time of 1:04.35 in the 100 and 2:18.66 in the 200. Senior
Tenninger Kellenbarger (Encinitas, Calif./LaCosta Canyon) also added top-10 finishes in both events, finishing ninth with a 1:07.95 in the 100 and seventh with a  2:26.21 in the 200.

Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) added a time of 1:02.75 to take second in the 100-yard breaststroke and he also took fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.17.

Freshman
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) also added two solid performances in the backstroke, finishing fourth in the 100 with a time of 54.66, the fourth-fastest time in school history, and sixth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.05, the fifth-best time in program history.

Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) took seventh in the 100-yard freestyle with a  time of 50.23 and junior
Joshua Cram (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) took ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.89.

Kramer also took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in 56.91 and freshman
Scarlet Ojeda (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:23.42). Senor
Hannah Bischoff (Germantown, Md./Northwest) took seventh in the 400-yard individual medley (5:30.46) and McGahey added top-10 finishes in the 400-yard individual medley (5:30.94, eighth) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:48.58, ninth). Â Freshman
Rebecca Donohue (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) took ninth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:14.73.

Both the men and women also competed in the 200-yard medley relay, with the women's team of Sloyer, Flynn, Ojeda and Kramer taking third in 1:57.55 and the men's team of Jordan, Endler, Thomas and Apostolu taking second in 1:39.71.

The Warriors get back in the pool on Saturday, Dec. 5, when they head to Messiah for a 1 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference meet.
