HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Sophomore Sean Martinez earned a win in the 200-yard freestyle, junior Drew Degnan (Elmira, N.Y. / Elmira) set a pair of personal bests, and junior Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) also snagged a PR in a competitive meet against Juniata and Wilkes on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Binder Natatorium.
Martinez earned the lone Lycoming win of the day, taking the 200 free in 2:08.87, winning by a little under a second. Degnan, meanwhile, took second in 50-yard freestyle, ripping off a career-best time of 26.26. He also clocked a new PR in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in third with a mark of 1:04.69.
On the women's side, Fox took third in a tightly-contested 50 free, logging a new personal best of 30.62. Fox also finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:08.94. Senior Megan Lonergan (York, Pa. / York Suburban) earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle while first-year Riley Pool (Canal Winchester, Ohio / Pickerington) logged fourth-place marks in 200-yard backstroke (3:01.15) and 800-yard freestyle (11:42.32).
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for another double-dual meet with Moravian and Susquehanna. The festivities will begin from Moravian University at 1 p.m.
