Herman leads Warrior cross country again at LVC Dutchmen Invitational

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Once again, sophomore #Michelle Herman# (Altoona, Pa./Hollidaysburg) led the Lycoming College cross country team with an 18th-place finish on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the LVC Dutchmen Invitational at Lebanon Valley College.

Herman finished in 21:17.77 in the 5,000-meter race to post her first top-20 finish of the season in the 88-runner field. Lebanon Valley took the team title with 39 points, as 10 teams competed in the event. With just two runners at the meet, Lycoming did not score. Freshman #Kerri Kearney# (Gardners, Pa./Bermudian Springs) finished in 28:45.

On the men’s side, the Warriors finished 10th in the field of 12 teams, led by a 38th-place finish from Californian freshman #Michael Puchalski#, as he posted a 29:46.16 in the 8,050-meter race. Senior #Jake Lewis# (Mickleton, N.J./Kingsway Regional) added a 48th-place finish, running the course in 30:31.47. Junior Robert Wiechecki (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) crossed the line in 33:19.38 to finish 70th and sophomore Isaiah Thomas (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergen C.C.) added an 83rd-place finish, crossing in 35:57.79. Senior #Alex Beattie# (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) took 85th at 36:22.45 and senior Jordan Baker (St. Mary’s, Pa./Home-schooled) finished 92nd at 37:47.31. Senior Patrick Welteroth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) crossed in 50:37.58 to round out Lycoming’s day.

The Warriors next travel to Dallas, Pa., and Misericordia for the Cougar Classic on Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m.
