WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A trio of Lycoming College football players: senior wide receiver Karson Kline (Clearfield, Pa. / Clearfield Area), sophomore linebacker Khalil Johnson (Laurel, Md. / Atholton) and junior running back Spencer Ferguson (Downingtown, Pa. / Coatesville Area) were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Eligible student-athletes must classify as at least a sophomore academically and carry a 3.50 minimum cumulative grade-point average. Additionally, the student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets throughout the season.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Football Team, which is selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Kline earned his second straight CSC Academic All-District selection after also being a Second Team All-Landmark Conference selection at wide reciever. The senior reeled in 43 catches for 602 yards and four touchdowns, finishing second in the conference in receptions and third in receiving yards. Kline posted a pair of 100-yard efforts and capped off his college career with a two-touchdown effort in the Cape Charles Bowl against Washington & Lee.
Johnson earned his first Academic All-District selection after a strong season at linebacker, where despite missing two games due to injury, he still racked up 62 tackles and 9.0 tackles for loss, while also piling up a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The sophomore was a two-time Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week this past season and also earned Honorable Mention All-Landmark honors.
Ferguson took home CSC Academic All-District accolades for the second year in a row. The junior played in all 11 games, tallying 349 yards and four touchdowns as a change-of-pace back, including a career-high 92 yards and two touchdowns on the ground at Juniata. He also was a major contributor on special teams, tallying nine tackles.
The Warriors finished the 2025 season 5-6 overall and in second place in the Landmark Conference with a 5-1 mark under 18th-year head coach Mike Clark. The team participated in the Cape Charles Bowl for the second time in three years as part of the Chesapeake Bowl Series.
