WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior
Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) used a six-save effort in a 3-1 win in the Lycoming College field hockey team's season-opener at Washington & Jefferson to earn her third career Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Bobé notched two saves in the first half, before notching four in the second half, to help Lycoming break a 1-1 tie at the break. She made two saves in each quarter, with both her fourth-quarter stops coming with the Warriors ahead, 2-1.
As a junior, Bobé earned First Team All-Landmark Conference at goalkeeper and won two Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week awards. She led the Landmark Conference in both saves per game (11.0), finishing 13
th in Division III with 187 saves, and in save percentage (.842), finishing 10
th in the nation in that statistic. She also finished tied for third in the conference with a 2.01 goals against average.
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when they head to Houghton University for a 6 p.m., non-conference game.
