WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming College swimming teams competed in their first home meet of the season, with the men winning nine races and coming up just short 98-96 and the women falling 207-43 against Marywood University on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Lamade Gym Natatorium.
On the men's side, first-year
 Jason Ricci (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill), junior
Drew Degnan (Elmira, N.Y. / Elmira), and sophomore
Sean Martinez (Willow Grove, Pa. / Upper Moreland) each won two individual races and were a part of two winning relay squads, while first-year
Dominic De Mar (Phoenix, Ariz. / Horizon) earned one individual win and was part of one winning relay.
De Mar turned in a dominant 1,000-yard freestyle, turning in a time of 11:19.61 that was more than 17 seconds below his personal best and won by nearly two minutes. Martinez took victories in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:59.25 that was nearly 33 seconds ahead of the next competitor and 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:31.59 that was over 46 seconds ahead of the next man.
Ricci took the 50-yard freestyle with a blistering 23.80, the second-fastest by a Warrior this year. He then set a personal best in winning the 200-yard individual medley, turning in a 2:16.71 that edged out his own teammate, De Mar. Degnan won the 100- and 200-yard butterflies, taking the former in 57.53, while the longer race was won in 2:15.65, taking both races by a little over ten seconds.
In the relays, the Warriors won the 200-yard medley, with Ricci, junior
Will Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg), Degnan, and Martinez turning in a time of 1:49.43 that was the fastest for the Warriors this season. The 200-yard freestyle relay also went to the Warriors, with Ricci, Degnan, De Mar, and Martinez cruising to victory with a time of 1:38.55.
On the women's side, the Warriors honored their three graduating swimmers: seniors
Megan Klansek (Hanover, Pa. / Southwestern) and
 Megan Lonergan (York, Pa. / York Suburban), as well as junior
Anasten Holbrook (Parker, Colo. / Colorado Early Colleges-Douglas County).
The Warriors women's side did not earn any victories, but junior
Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) came extremely close in the 50-yard freestlyle, swimming a 27.62 that was just .31 seconds behind the winner.Â
Lycoming also took second in the 200-yard medley relay, with first year
Riley Pool (Canal Winchester, Ohio / Pickerington), sophomore
Madison Robbins (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area), first year
Elizabeth Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg) and Fox turning a 2:12.38 mark, as well as the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Fox, Eberz, first year
Vanessa Cook (Seekonk, Mass. / Seekonk), and Robbins finishing in 1:56.37.
Pool took third in the 1000-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke, while Lonergan added third-place finishes in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races. Klansek was third in the 100-yard backstroke and Robbins finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Warriors will next compete in the Electric City Invitational at Marywood University from Nov. 21-23.
