Oliver, Mitchell-Brown snag Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After a dominant game on the ground and a stifling defensive effort from the Lycoming College football team,  junior Terrence Oliver (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) earned the Landmark Conference's Offensive Athlete of the Week award and first-year Christon Mitchell-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa. / Archbishop Ryan) took home the conference's Defensive Athlete of the Week honor. Both awards were announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for their efforts in the Warriors' first win of the season, a 17-0 shutout of Moravian on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Oliver narrowly missed his second 200-yard rushing effort of the season, racking up 194 yards and a touchdown on the ground, doing so on a career-high 36 carries. He also added three catches for 22 yards, finishing with 216 all-purpose yards on the afternoon, twice the output of Moravian's total offense (108).

The junior running back currently leads Division III and is second in the NCAA in rushing yards (808). He also ranks fourth in Division III in rushing yards per game (161.6), is tied for 11th in rushing touchdowns (8), tied for eighth in total touchdowns (9), and is fourth in all-purpose yards (900). All of those totals lead the Landmark Conference, as does his 6.7 yards per carry. He also set conference records for rushing yards (298), total yards (334), and longest touchdown run (89 yards) in a game on Sept. 20 against Dickinson, when he earned his first Landmark athlete of the week honors of the year.

On the other side of the ball, Mitchell-Brown was in the middle of a stifling effort that held Moravian to just 108 total yards, only six first downs, and did not allow the Greyhounds into the red zone. Mitchell-Brown tallied five tackles, including his first career sack, a strip sack that led to Lycoming's second score.

Mitchell-Brown has made an immediate impact in his debut season, with 21 total tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss a sack, and a forced fumble. He also blocked a field goal attempt on Sept. 13 at Montclair State.

Mitchell-Brown is the first Warrior to earn defensive athlete of the week honors since sophomore Khalil Johnson (Laurel, Md./Atholton) earned the defensive athlete of the week award on Nov. 5, 2024.

The Warriors are back on the field at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they take on Susquehanna University on the road in Selinsgrove, Pa.
