Be Better Today T-shirts in honor of Tim Chiarolanza on sale

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is selling Be Better Today! T-shirts in honor of former Lycoming College strength and conditioning coach Tim Chiarolanza '11, who is in the midst of recovery after he was struck by a car in November 2021.

T-shirts are available for purchase through RogersUniforms.com and are available for $16.86 for short sleeve and $20.96 for long sleeve for adult sizes and can be shipped anywhere in the United States. (For those who are looking for delivery directly to Lycoming College, there is no cost for shipping.) Youth sizes are also available and proceeds will benefit Bryn Mawr Rehab, where Chiarolanza is currently doing his outpatient therapy. Sales for the fundraiser will finish on Sunday, Feb. 12.

The front of the t-shirt features the Lycoming logo and the back has Tim's mantra, "Be Better Today!!!" written in his own handwriting.

After he was struck by the vehicle on Washington Blvd., in November, Tim suffered several life-threatening injuries and a traumatic brain injury. Through his dedication, he has made remarkable progress since the accident and was honored to share his story at Bryn Mawr Rehab's art Ability dinner in November 2022, where he said, "What I tell myself every day as I am working out or at home is, 'Be Better Today.' We can't affect what happened yesterday, we can't affect what happens tomorrow. Today is the only thing that we can affect."

A two-year letterwinner as a kicker on the football team after transferring from Muhlenberg, Chiarolanza earned First Team Academic All-American honors in 2010 after he finished 8-of-10 in field goal attempts as a senior. He clinched a 26-24 win over 13th-ranked Ithaca with a 23-yard field goal with seven seconds left and hit a career-long 37-yard field goal in a 17-10 win over FDU-Florham in his last collegiate game.

A business major at Lycoming, Chiarolanza went on to earn a master of science in exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017 while working as the head strength and conditioning coach at Transcend Fitness. He then worked in minor league baseball with both the Angels and Orioles organizations before returning to Lycoming as the head strength and conditioning coach in August 2021.
