WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With three touchdowns on nine rushes against Juniata, Lycoming College first-year running back Quasim Benson (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday, Oct. 30.
 
Benson scored three times on nine rushes and added 13 receiving yards on one catch in Lycoming's 56-10 win over Juniata. The first-year player scored on 13-yard TD run with his first touch of the ball late in the first quarter. He scored on a 33-yard run and had a first-down reception in second quarter, then added a 31-yard rush and an 18-yard TD run in third quarter to finish with 115 rushing yards.

Benson is fifth in the Landmark Conference with an average of 65.3 rushing yards per game and he is also fifth with five touchdowns.
 
He is the third Warrior to earn conference athlete of the week honors this year, joining sophomore Jordan Rhinehart (Upper Darby, Pa./Father Judge), the defensive athlete of the week on Oct. 16, and senior Ian Plankenhorn (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) was the special teams athlete of the week on Oct. 23. Benson is the first Lycoming offensive player of the week since Elijah Shemory '22 was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 24, 2021.
 
The Warriors are back on the field on Saturday, Nov. 4, when they host Landmark Conference foe Moravian University at 12 p.m., in a matchup for second place in the league.
