CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – First-year Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) ran the fourth-fastest 6K time in program history, running a career-best 24:41.4 to lead the Lycoming College cross country team on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the DeSales Invitational. The women's cross country team placed 15^th out of 19 teams and the men's cross country team placed 15^th out of 17 teams.
 
Yocum placed 27^th in of a field of 179 runners. Her previous best of 25:43.61 was the eighth fastest time in program history.
 
Two more members of the women's team posted career bests in the 6K race, as sophomore Ali Clemens (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) ran a 26:47.0 to take 89^th and sophomore Hiyori Iai (Zushi, Japan/Yokohama Science Frontier) ran a 27:42.6 to take 110^th. Juniors Laurel Stoppard (York, Pa./Central York) ran a 33:12.4 and Mariah Rovenolt (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) ran a 44:33.
 
First-year Elliot Bello (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) posted a career best for the Warriors men's cross country team, running 29:44.5 in the 8K race, placing 86^th out of a field of 189 runners. Senior Max Hanson (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Bishop Machebeuf (Colo.)) also ran a career-best time of 30:10.0 and placing 100^th.
 
Seniors Logan Franquet (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Twp.) ran a 33:46.3, Diego Pallares (Cicero, Ill./Bulls College Prep) ran 34:05.2, Brandon Gates (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) ran a 34:54.7 and Maverick Stenger (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) ran a 37:12.9, finishing just behind first-year Nate Noel (Sparta, N.J./Sussex Tech), who ran a 37:05.7 to round out the scoring-factoring seven runners.
 
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational at 10:30 a.m. in Gettysburg, Pa.
