WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – With a quarterfinals win at No. 7 singles, junior Micah Haag (Jersey Shore, Pa./Homeschooled) highlighted the Lycoming College men's tennis team's first day at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships at Kirby Park on Saturday, Oct. 12.
 
Haag posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Alvernia's Dylan Boltz in his first match in the quarterfinals to set up a semifinal match with Stevens' Eloi Pradier. The semifinals will take place on Sunday after doubles play is completed, which begins at 9 a.m.
 
Two Warrior singles players and one duo played into their quarterfinals on Saturday. The doubles duo of sophomore Casey Haas (Montousville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and freshman Frank Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) posted an 8-5 win over Alvernia's Kevin Angeles and Noah Hermany at No. 2. They fell to the top-seeded pair of Gabriel Sifuentes and Philip Szudlarski  from Stevens, 8-1, in that round.
 
Haas also won his opening match at No. 3 singles, beating Angeles, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4, but fell to Stevens' top-seeded Mark Kanecsky, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarterfinal. Summerson downed Eastern's Darren Lopez, 6-3, 6-4, in the first round before falling to DeSales' third-seeded Nolan Beck, 6-1, 6-1.
