Warriors secure first win over King's, 5-2

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Lycoming College men's tennis team picked up their first win of 2026-27 over King's College, 5-2, on Thursday, Oct. 1, in a non-conference match. The Warriors swept all three doubles matches and added singles wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6.
 
The Warriors, who now hold a record of 1-5, earned the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Junior Kayvan Shams (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) and junior Logan Hammond (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) won 6-2 at No. 1, first-year Teli Bobotas (South Williamsport, Pa./Montoursville Area) and senior Thomas Andersen (Wenonah, N.J./Deptford Township) added a 6-3 victory at No. 2, and senior Keegan Gill (Northumberland, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian) and sophomore Mason Morrow (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) won 6-3 at No. 3.
 
Shams, who ran his singles winning streak to eight matches, posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Andersen added a 6-4, 6-4 result at No. 4 singles. Bobotas recorded a 5-7, 7-6, 10-8 win at No. 3 singles for the fourth point. Morrow finished with a 6-7, 6-3, 11-9 win at No. 6 singles.
 
Up next, the Warriors head to Drew University for a 1 p.m., Landmark Conference match on Saturday, Oct. 3.
