Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – Despite several close matches, the Lycoming College men's tennis team ended its 2016-17 season with a 9-0 MAC Commonwealth defeat at Arcadia University at the Weiss Courts on Saturday afternoon, April 29.

Bryce Jones (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) fell to the Nick Simeone at No 1 singles, 7-5, 7-5 and also had a close doubles match with freshman partner
Mitch Wheary (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), who fell to Simeone and Wesley Wei, 8-6, at the No. 1 slot.

Rob Smith (Middleburg, Pa./Selinsgrove) finished his season 13-8, tied with Tony Pollitt for second in school history, as Pollitt went 13-1 in 1961. Smith also had 20 combined wins (13 singles, seven doubles), placing him in a tie for fifth in school history.

Evan Bennetch (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Bible Baptist School) finished 11-9 on the season, which is tied for seventh-most singles wins in program history.

The Warriors finished the year 6-13 overall and 1-6 in the MAC Commonwealth. Arcadia improved to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the MAC Commonwealth.
