Evan Bennetch (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Bible Baptist School) moved into a tie for the team lead in wins with a three-set win, but the Lycoming College men's tennis team was edged out by Elmira College, 5-4, on Sunday, April 2, at Bruce Henry Park.

The Warriors (4-7 overall) won two contested singles bouts and gained the benefit of forfeit wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, but Elmira (5-4 overall) was able to win both doubles flights and three singles wins, including a three-set win by Stephen Gervase at No 4 singles to clinch the win.

Bennetch posted a three-set win, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3 singles against Yaniv Kogan to improve to 8-5 on the season, tying junior
Rob Smith (Middleburg, Pa./Selinsgrove) for the team lead in wins. Senior
Bryce Jones (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) provided the other win, posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Anthony Colavito at No. 1 singles.

The Warriors get back in action at Bruce Henry Park when they face Albright in a MAC Commonwealth match at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5.
