YORK, Pa. – For the third straight night, a Lycoming College swimmer set a school record at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. This night, it was junior
Andrew Canavan's turn to break a record, as he finished third in the 200-yard backstroke to highlight the last night of the championships for Lycoming on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Opening the night session for the Warriors, Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) broke his own school-record for the third straight year to take third and earn First Team All-MAC honors in the 200-yard breaststroke, lowering the school standard to 1:55.72 from 1:56.00.

Sophomore
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) became the third swimmer to dip below 2:00 in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing sixth in 1:57.62 to earn Second Team All-MAC honors, while his preliminary time of 1:57.42 is second in school history to only Canavan.

The men's 400-yard freestyle team of freshman
Devyn Goda (Reading, Pa./Reading Area), sophomore
Jon Koller (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), Canavan and Jordan capped the meet in style, dropping 11 seconds off its seed time to finish in 3:22.55 to take eighth and earn honorable mention all-conference honors. Jordan notched a split of 48.78 in the anchor leg to lead the team.

Goda finished ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke while narrowly missing a school-record while winning the consolation final. Goda's time of 2:11.65 won the heat by more than two seconds while he dropped his preliminary time by four seconds and came up less than three-tenths of a second off the school record of 2:11.38 set by
Trevor Endler in 2015.

Sophomore
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) also won the consolation final in the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:34.80, dropping 2.5 seconds off her preliminary time. Senior
Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) added an 11
th-place finish in that race, posting a time of 2:39.46.

Freshman
Will Gillespie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) took 15
th in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:06.19, the fifth-fastest time in program history. Sophomore
Scarlet Ojeda (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) finished 16
th to earn points in the women's 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:28.00.

The Lycoming men finished in eighth place with 188 points while Albright took back the title with 581 points, narrowly edging out defending champion Widener, which finished with 553.5. Lycoming finished ninth in the women's standings, posting 140 points during the championship while Messiah won the crown for the fourth straight year with 619 points.

The Warriors finished the 2016-17 season by setting three school records at the MAC Championships while earning three First Team All-MAC accolades, two Second Team All-MAC honors and six relay squads took home honorable mention all-conference honors.
