DALLAS, Pa. – Thanks to two individual wins each by junior
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) and sophomore
Devyn Goda Reading, Pa./Reading), the Lycoming College men's and women's swim teams were able to split a double-dual in Middle Atlantic Conference action as the men defeated Hood, 173-76, while the women also defeated the Blazers, 163-79. Both Warrior teams fell to Misericordia, as the men fell 140-116 and the women fell, 181.50-79.50, on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 11 at Anderson Center Pool.
On the women's side, Kramer won both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. In the 100-yard breaststroke, she swam a 1:10.95 while she swam a 2:38.30 in the 200-yard breaststroke. She also took second in the 100-yard butterfly with a swim of 1:07.6.
Junior
Rebecca Donohue (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:42.35 swim.
For the men, Goda took first in both the 100- and 200-yard breastroke. He finished in 1:01.30 in the 100-yard breaststroke while swimming a 2:25.19 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Junior
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a 54.94 swim.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of senior
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), sophomore
Josh Caro (Ontario, Calif./Colony), freshman
Caleb Beard (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and sophomore
Theo Gouskos (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) took second with a swim of 1:46.96.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, freshman
Brandon Vought (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) finished in 10:57.48. He also took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a swim of 5:22.13.
Canavan picked up two other second-place finishes, in both the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard backstroke, he swam a 2:04.86 while swimming a 1:58.51 in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Warriors return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 18, when they take on Messiah in a road MAC meet at 1 p.m.
