2017-18: Competed in three events at the MAC Championships … also competed in the backstroke, individual medley, breaststroke events throughout the season … earned two top-10 finishes at MACs, placing ninth in the 100-yard backstroke (54.59) and fifth in the 200-yard backstroke (1:56.85) … also placed 16^th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.80) and helped the 200-yard medley relay squad place eighth (1:41.98) … set school-record in 100-yard individual medley with a time of 56.36 at Messiah … earned a slot on the MAC Winter Sportsmanship Team.
 
2016-17:  Academic All-MAC … competed in the backstroke, individual medley, breaststroke events throughout the season … swam in four individual events at MAC Championships and three relay events … set the school record in the 200-yard backstroke for third straight year with a time of 1:55.72, taking third and First Team All-MAC honors … won consolation final in 100-yard backstroke, taking ninth in 54.27, the fifth-fastest time in program history … took 12^th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.72) and swam fourth-fastest time in program history in preliminary race (2:01.32) … swam anchor leg on the 400-yard freestyle team (3:37.04), helping team finish seventh to earn honorable mention all-conference honors … led off 800-yard freestyle relay (7:34.92), setting personal record of 1:51.70 in the 200-yard freestyle with leadoff split, and swam anchor on 200-yard freestyle relay (1:30.73) … earned a slot on the Winter MAC Sportsmanship Team … a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

2015-16: Competed in four events at the MAC Championships … picked up two all-conference honors … earned Second Team All-MAC honors in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:56.00, setting the school record … earned Honorable Mention All-MAC accolades in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:30.14) … finished ninth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.91 … also competed in the 500-yard freestyle … also broke his own school record in 200-yard backstroke during Swarthmore Invitational, posting a time of 1:58.72 … earned a slot on the MAC Sportsmanship Team … a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

2014-15: Competed in the backstroke, freestyle and medley events throughout the season … set the school record in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.05 at the Swarthmore Invitational … earned Second Team All-MAC honors in the event, finishing sixth at the MAC Championships with a time of 1:59.46 … helped 400-yard medley squad set school record and earn Second Team All-MAC honors by finishing fifth with a time of 3:33.06 at the MAC Championships … finished 15^th at the MACs in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:37.39 and eighth in the 100-yard backstroke (56.42).

High School: A second-team all-conference selection in the 100-yard backstroke and in the 200-yard freestyle as a senior … a third-team all-conference pick in the 200-yard freestyle relay as a junior … swam with Caldwell Center Cyclones … set club’s 200-yard backstroke record.

Personal: Son of Eileen and Thomas Canavan … has two sisters, Katherine and Christine … an actuarial science and math major … favorite movie is “Miracle” … favorite teams are the New York Giants and the New York Mets.
