Zackary Collevechio (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley) posted a singles and doubles win to lead the Lycoming College men's tennis team on Saturday afternoon, April 2, but the Warriors fell to Stevenson University, 7-2, in the MAC Commonwealth opener at Bruce Henry Park.
Collevechio teamed with sophomore partner
Zachary High (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) to post an 8-3 win over the team of Douglas Vaughn and Tony Beres at No. 3 doubles, as the pair improved to 5-4 on the season.
Collevechio also improved to 7-4 in singles play, posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Vaughn at No. 5 singles. High also had a tight match, falling in a superset tiebreaker to Kevin Slujtner at No. 6, 2-6, 6-2, 10-4.
The Warriors fell to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth and Stevenson improved to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Commonwealth.
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, April 6, when they host Keuka in a 3 p.m. match at Bruce Henry Park.
