WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -Â After an invigorating three-point win over Lebanon Valley on the day that the college saluted Coach Frank Girardi on his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, the Lycoming College football team will look to even its record when it heads to Wilkes for a 1 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference game on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The Warriors (3-4 overall, 2-4 MAC) built a three-touchdown lead in the first half before Lebanon Valley scored 24 in a row, setting up a game-winning touchdown by sophomore
Nick Costello with 1:25 left.Â
The Colonels (1-6 overall, 1-5 MAC) are coming off a 69-13 loss at Albright.

Nick Costello leads the conference with 83.1 receiving yards per game.

With a leaping grab over a defender, sophomore wide receiver
Nick Costello helped Lycoming overcome a late deficit against Lebanon Valley in the 27-24 win. The 34-yard touchdown reception was a finalist for the D3football.com Play of the Week and was his second touchdown of the game, as he caught six passes for 96 yards. Costello has six straight 75-yard games to his credit, helping him move into the league lead with 582 receiving yards. Costello has receiving touchdowns on 41, 63 and 34 yards in the past three games and six straight games with a reception of more than 30 yards.

Chase Whiteman has engineered four second-half comebacks in his career, including the 75-yard fourth-quarter drive to help Lycoming overcome a three-point deficit to beat Lebanon Valley, 27-24, on Oct. 22. He capped the drive with a 34-yard touchdown pass to sophomore
Nick Costello Earlier this year, he led the team to a 14-point fourth quarter that helped the Warriors overcome Misericordia, 28-24. Whiteman's first career win came against Wilkes in 2015, and he threw two touchdown passes, one late in the third quarter and one early in the fourth to turn a 24-20 deficit to a 10-point lead en route to a 48-24 route. Against Delaware Valley in 2015, Whiteman helped turn a 42-21 deficit into a 43-42 win thanks to a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the game's final seven minutes.Â

Blake Bowman is not just leaving an impact on the Lycoming College record book. He is also making an impact on a conference and national level. His 10 rushing touchdowns are second in the MAC and are 24th in Division III, while his 674 rushing yards also lead the league. Bowman's average of 117.7 all-purpose yards tops the MAC and is 112th in the country.
A Big Boot

Brandon Miller has gotten out to an impressive start as Lycoming's punter. The Slatington, Pa., native is averaging 41.2 yards through his first 40 punts, which is the second-highest single-season average in program history and sits 16th in Division III. Miller has a 59-yarder to his credit, along with nine inside the 20, three touchbacks and he has forced eight fair catches. The Warriors are netting a MAC-best 37.13 yards per punt, which is 18th-best in Division III.

Blake Bowman is looking to leave a large impact on the college's record book. Some milestones that Bowman, who set a school single-season record with 18 rushing touchdowns as junior, is approaching include:
- 46 rushing yards from tying Cory Sheridan (1989-92) for sixth in program history with 2,398 yards
- 1 touchdown from becoming the second Warrior in program history to score 30 career touchdowns
- 1 100-yard rushing game from tying Deasey for fourth in school history with 10
- 114 all-purpose yards from becoming 11th player in school history to post 3,000 in a career
- 2 touchdowns from tying Deasey for fourth in school history with 33
