Warriors win pair of doubles bouts at Alvernia

Box Score READING, Pa. – The Lycoming College men's tennis team won a pair of doubles matches at Alvernia University on Saturday afternoon, April 25, but Alvernia was able to win all six singles matches to post a 7-2 Commonwealth Conference win.
 
Junior Joe Amento (Ambler, Pa./Abington Friends School) and sophomore Son Phan (Hanoi, Vietnam) notched an 8-5 win over Ben Daubenspeck and Kyle Clark at No. 2 doubles and junior Zackary Collevechio (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley) and freshman Zachary High (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added a 9-7 win over Jacob Conapitski and Antonio Gaetani at No. 3 doubles.
 
Senior Joe Rudderow (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) played well at No. 3 singles against Daubenspeck, falling, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in his final career match.
 
The Warriors fell to 1-15 overall and 0-7 in the Commonwealth Conference to close the year and Alvernia improved to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the Commonwealth.
