GRANTHAM, Pa. – Senior
Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) won two individual events and established a school record in the 100-yard individual medley to lead the Lycoming College swim teams on Saturday, Dec. 5 in a Middle Atlantic Conference dual with Messiah College, but Messiah was able to post a close 144-118 win on the men's side and a 195-67 win on the women's side.

Apostolu led the men's team, which fell to 2-4 overall, with back-to-back wins in the 50-yard (22.71) and 100-yard freestyle (50.23). He also notched a time of 57.24 to take second in the 100-yard individual medley behind Messiah's Nolan McArdle in the first time in program history that the team has swum the event to establish a new school record.

The Warrior men won eight of the 14 individual events, but Messiah's depth led to 88 points in the second through fifth-place finishers in each event, as Messiah improved to 2-6 overall.

Senior
Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) posted a time of 2:21.29 to win the 200-yard breaststroke and 1:03.11 to win the 100-yard breaststroke.

Sophomore
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) won the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.24) and freshman
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) took first in the 100-yard version of the event (56.09), while Canavan took second. Senior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) added a time of 53.66 to take the 100-yard butterfly.

The Warriors also notched a win in the opening 200-yard medley relay, with Jordan, Endler, Thomas and Apostolu notching a time of 1:41.35.

On the women's side, senior
Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) led the Warriors (3-3 overall) with two individual wins in both breaststroke events, as Messiah (7-1 overall) won 12 of the 14 events.

Flynn posted a time of 2:39.58 to win the 200-yard breaststroke and came back to post a 1:14.41 to win the 100. Freshman
Scarlet Ojeda (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:29.40), freshman
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) took second in the 50-yard freestyle (26.78) and the 100-yard freestyle (59.10) and senior
Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.43).

The Warriors will now have off for the Holiday break, getting back in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 16, when they head to Arcadia for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
