SELINSGROVE, Pa. – With wins all the way through the lineup, the Lycoming College men's tennis team shrugged off a winless 2013-14 season with an impressive 9-0 win over Susquehanna on a beautiful Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Garrett Tennis Courts.

The Warriors (1-0 overall) won their season opener for the first time since 2011, as sophomore Bryce Jones (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) and senior Joe Rudderow (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) picked up both singles and doubles wins. The win also halted an 11-match skid for the Warriors, dating back to an 8-1 win over Hood in the 2012-13 season finale on April 27, 2013.

Jones led the team with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Matthew Weller and an 8-0 win with junior partner Joe Amento (Ambler, Pa./Abington Friends School) over Weller and Micah Nichols at No. 1 doubles.

Rudderow notched a 6-2, 6-4 win over Andrew Parrish at No. 2 singles and teamed with senior Patrick Herrington (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) to post a 8-3 win over Rosales-Bernstein and Andrew Parrish.

The Warriors also posted wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, with sophomore Evan Bennetch (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Bible Baptist School) notching a 6-0, 6-3 win over Nichols and junior Zackary Collevechio (Summit Hill, Pa./Panther Valley) posting a 6-1, 6-1 win over Daniel Rosales-Bernstein.

Susquehanna fell to 0-1 overall, as the team was forced to forfeit two singles and one doubles match.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they head to King's for a 10:30 a.m. match.
