ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Jason Mifsud (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) moved to within a win of the school’s high-water mark for singles victories in a season in the past 40 years, as he dispatched his opponent in two sets, but the Lycoming College men’s tennis team fell to two-time defending Commonwealth Conference champions Elizabethtown, 8-1, on Wednesday afternoon, April 10.
Mifsud improved to 11-1 on the season with an impressive 6-2, 6-4 dispatching of Elizabethtown’s Josh Riehl at No. 1 singles. Mifsud is 6-0 this season in dual meets and 3-0 in Commonwealth Conference play.
However, that was the only match the Warriors (1-5 overall, 0-3 Commonwealth) could win against the Blue Jays (9-1 overall, 3-0 Commonwealth).
The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, April 16, when they host Messiah at 3 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park in a Commonwealth Conference match.
