Donovan leads Warriors at DeSales Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Freshman Sarah Donovan (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) finished 102nd in a field of 248 runners to lead the Lycoming College cross country teams, as both teams previewed the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships course at the DeSales University Invitational on a sunny, Saturday, Oct. 12.
 
Donovan led the Warriors to an 18th-place finish out of 22 teams, as the Warriors finished ahead of MAC foes Alvernia, Delaware Valley and FDU-Florham. She posted a time of 27:39.36.
 
Sophomore Lindsay Decker (Shapleigh, Maine/Massabesic) followed with a time of 28:04.51 to finish 118th with her second-fastest time of the season. Freshman Victoria Wilson (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland) followed with a time of 28:56.69 to take 143rd, junior Kelsey Rawson (Waldorf, Md./North Point) notched a time of 29:31.96 to take 161st and sophomore Anna Summers (Paxinos, Pa./Shamokin Area) clocked in at 29:51.51 to take 170th and round out the top five.
 
Senior Meredith Ellmore (Lothian, Md./Southern) notched a time of 31:30.21, sophomore Rachel Salmon (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) finished in 32:09.87, freshman Jacqueline Croteau (Islip, N.Y./Islip) posted a time of 33:53.35, senior Carmen Niemeyer (Brookings, S.D./Brookings) posted a time of 36:38.78 and senior Lindsey Wittlich (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) added a career-best 39:19.00 to round out Lycoming's women's entries.
 
Sophomore Peter Rittenhouse (Green Lane, Pa./Quakertown Community) notched a season-best time of 31:25.29 to lead the men's cross country team for the first time this season, helping lead the Warriors to a 19th-place finish in a field of 20 teams.
 
Rittenhouse finished in 178th, just ahead of freshman Jacob Miller (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central), who finished 184th with a time of 31:40.34. Junior Alex Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) posted a time of 32:22.30 to take 207th, junior William Dietz (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield Area) came in at 32:41.36 to take 215th and freshman Bryant Dietrick (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) rounded out the top five with a time of 32:42.07 to take a time of 217th.
 
Senior Cory Trego (Pottstown, Pa./Coventry Christian School) finished in 33:14.75, sophomore Jacob McClain (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore) 35:34.76, freshman Donald Keys (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate), junior Colton Dersham (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) 40.57.61, sophomore Isaac Pawling (Columbia, Pa./Manheim Central) 41:24 and junior John Paul Keith (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) 43:23.77 to round out the team's lineup.
 
The Warriors will take the next two weekends off before getting starting the postseason with the MAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 26. The men will race at 11 a.m. and the women will start at 12 p.m.
