Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Jason Mifsud (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) kicked off his senior year with a solid performance, downing the 2012 Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year, Steven Wilson, in a superset tiebreaker, but the Lycoming College men’s tennis team fell to defending Freedom Conference champion Wilkes, 8-1, on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Bruce Henry Park.
 
Mifsud won his 31^st career singles match, posting a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 win over Wilson, downing a player that reached the semifinals at the MAC Individual Championships in 2011.
 
Wilkes, which swept the doubles play and five singles flights, improved to 1-0. Lycoming fell to 0-1.
 
Mifsud and fellow senior Cody Heffner (Williamsport, Pa./Muncy) will now get prepared to go to the ITA Southeast Regionals in Fredericksburg, Va., at the University of Mary Washington, starting on Saturday, Sept. 29.
