Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Junior Jason Mifsud (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) came close to upsetting the 2011 Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year in both singles and doubles to lead the Lycoming College men’s tennis team, but Manrique Arrea pulled out both matches to help lead defending conference champion Elizabethtown to a 9-0 win.
 
Mifsud, who defeated Arrea in singles play in the 2011 regular season, nearly pulled off the feat again, but fell in a superset tiebreaker, posting a 6-1 win in the first set before falling, 4-6, in the second. Arrea took the third set, 10-5, to take the No. 1 singles match.
 
In doubles play, Arrea and partner Paul Whitman, narrowly edged out Mifsud and junior Cody Heffner (Williamsport, Pa./Muncy), 9-7, at No. 1 doubles.
 
The Warriors (4-3 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth) had a tough match at No. 2 doubles, as junior Frankie Casale (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) and senior Devin Rachael (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) fell to Josh Riehl and Eric Fritzges, 8-6.
 
Elizabethtown improves to 8-6 overall and 3-0 in the Commonwealth.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, April 21, when they face Lebanon Valley in an important Commonwealth Conference clash at 12 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
