DALLAS, Pa. – With a career-best 17
th-place finish, senior
Michelle Herman (Altoona, Pa./Hollidaysburg) earned her second straight Second Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors on Saturday, Oct. 27, to highlight the Lycoming College cross country teams day at the MAC Championships at Letter Kenny Fields. The women’s team took 10
th in a 17-team field, the highest finish for the program since 2006, while the men’s team finished 15
th out of 17 teams.
Herman led the Warriors with a time of 25:19.36 on the 6K course, as she became the first Warrior women’s cross country runner in school history to earn two all-conference honors in a career, and was followed by senior
Ashley Buck (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township), who posted a time of 27:32.44 to take 59th. Freshman
Rachel Salmon (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) finished 94th with a time of 29:04.17 and sophomore
Kelsey Rawson (Waldorf, Md./North Point) finished 109th with a career-best 29:54.58. Freshman
Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) rounded out the top five with a career-best 30:14.11 to take 114
th in the field of 151 runners.
Junior
Carmen Niemeyer (Brookings, S.D./Brookings) posted a time of 30:22.50 and sophomore
Heather Cunningham (York, Pa./Central York) ran a 30:31.44. Junior
Meredith Ellmore (Lothian, Md./Southern) rounded out the Warriors women with a time of 31:38.86.
Freshman
Peter Rittenhouse (Green Lane, Pa./Quakertown Community) once again led the men’s team, finishing in 31:06.70 to take 104
th in the 8K race. Junior
Mike Puchalski (Redlands, Calif./Redlands East Valley) took 113th with a time of 31:34.29 and sophomore
Alex Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) added a time of 31:45.89 to take 116th. Rounding out the top five, sophomore
Louis Lara (Baltimore, Md./Mount St. Joseph) took 133rd with a career-best 32:54.55 and freshman
Josh Allabaugh (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke Area) finished with a career-best 32:59.24 to take 136
th in the 165-man field.
Freshman
Jacob McClain (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) posted a career-best 34:19.82 and sophomore
Rory McAtee (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) edged out his brother,
Chris, finishing in 34:25.73 and 34:30.37, respectively. Senior
Kevan Guerin (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) posted a time of 34:52.31 and freshmen
Jamal Nelson (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) added a time of 35:14.34. Rounding out the Warriors times, sophomore
John Paul Keith (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) posted a career-best 38:01.82 and senior
Patrick McAtee (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) added a 38:12.43.
The Warriors will now have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals, which will be held at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa., on Saturday, Nov. 10.
