READING, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team wrapped up its 2010-11 regular season on Monday afternoon, April 25, as it downed Albright, 9-0, to finish second in the Commonwealth Conference for the second straight year.

The Warriors (7-3 overall, 5-1 Commonwealth) won all three doubles matches against the Lions (0-9 overall, 0-6 Commonwealth). Brothers sophomore David and senior Robert Brown (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) posted an 8-0 win over Mike Callahan and Brandon Wiegand and senior Phillip Shannon (Cogan Station, Pa./Williamsport Area) and sophomore Jason Mifsud (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) added an 8-0 win over Jason Lefkoe and Joe Monzo.

In singles play, Mifsud posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Callahan at No. 1 and Robert Brown posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Lefkoe. David Brown added a 6-0, 6-0 win over Monzo and Shannon notched a 6-0, 6-0 win over Wiegand. Junior Devin Rachael (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Dan Rosello at No. 6.

The Warriors now advance to the Commonwealth Conference Championship semifinals on Tuesday, April 26, where the No. 2-seeded Warriors will face No. 3 Lebanon Valley at 3:30 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
