LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Commonwealth Conference champions opened its title defense in convincing fashion on Saturday afternoon, March 26, at Bruce Henry Park, posting a 9-0 win over Arcadia University.

In doubles play, the Warriors (3-2 overall, 1-0 Commonwealth) started the sweep as sophomore Cody Heffner (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and junior Devin Rachael (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) notched an 8-1 win over Marc Ruggia and Dean Search at No. 3. Sophomore Jason Mifsud (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and senior Phillip Shannon (Cogan  Station, Pa./Williamsport Area) notched an 8-2 win over Herminio Quinones and Eric Elie at No. 2 and brothers sophomore David and senior Robert Brown (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) notched an 8-3 win at No. 1 over Bart Blankenship and Max Amiel.

In singles play, David Brown notched a 6-0, 6-0 win over Amiel at No. 3 and Mifsud added a 6-1, 6-2 win over Blankenship at No. 1 to clinch the win. Robert Brown added a 6-3, 6-2 win over Elie at No. 2 and Shannon notched a 6-0, 6-0 win over Andrew Duong at No. 4. Heffner psoted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ruggia at No. 5 and Rachael wrapped up the match with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Quinones at No. 6.

The Kinghts fell to 0-3 overall, 0-1 in the Commonwealth Conference.

The Warriors get back into action on Saturday when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 12 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
