Men's tennis handles King's College 8-1

KINGSTON, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team handled the Monarchs of King’s College 8-1 on Thursday, April 22 in a Middle Atlantic Conferences crossover match up. Freshman sensation David Brown did not drop a game in his singles match.

Brown won his fourth-flight contest 6-0, 6-0 over Nick Conte. In the second flight of singles, Alex Beattie picked up his eighth victory of the year 6-2, 6-2 over Tim Carroll. Jason Mifsud took a win in the third flight 6-0, 6-1 against Michael Steinberger. In the fifth flight, Phillip Shannon won 6-1, 6-1 over David Chen while Cody Heffner took a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the sixth flight.

In doubles action, the Warriors swept all three flights, with Beattie and Mifsud taking the first flight 8-2. Brothers David and Robert Brown won the second flight 8-3. Shannon and Hefner paired up to win the third flight 8-5.

Lycoming returns to Williamsport for its final regular season match of the year against Commonwealth Conference opponent Albright College on Saturday, April 24. The tilt is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Bruce Henry Park.
