Men's tennis dispatches Misericordia 7-2

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team continued to dominate the courts, defeating Misericordia University 7-2 on Monday, April 12. Warrior of the Week David Brown continued to dominate, not dropping a single game for the third straight match.

David Brown took his fourth-flight match in straight sets 6-0, 6-0, extending his win streak to six during his freshman campaign. In the first flight of singles, his brother Robert Brown won his match 6-4, 6-4. The two paired up to win the second flight of doubles 8-1.

In the second flight of singles, Alex Beattie won his first set easily, 6-0 but was challenged in the second set but took the victory 7-5. Jason Mifsud took his third flight singles match 6-2, 6-2 while Phillip Shannon won his fifth-flight tilt 6-1, 6-3. In the final flight, Cody Heffner defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-3.

Lycoming (5-1) is on the road for its next match against Commonwealth Conference opponent Arcadia University on Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.m. in Glenside, Pa.
