WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team extended its winning streak to four after defeating Alvernia University 7-2 on Saturday, April 10. Freshman David Brown blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Brown picked up his fifth victory of the season in the fourth flight, and partnered with brother
Robert Brown to win the second flight of doubles 8-2. Robert won his first flight of singles 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
In the second flight of singles,
Alex Beattie claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory. He and doubles partner
Jason Mifsud won the first flight of doubles 8-2.
Phillip Shannon and Cody Heffner won the third flight of doubles by a narrow 8-6 margin.
Heffner won his sixth-flight singles match 6-3, 6-3 to seal the Lycoming victory.
The Warriors’ next match will be on Monday, April 12 when they host the Cougars of Misericordia University at 4 p.m. in Bruce Henry Park.
